Kauai Recycling and Glass
Glass recycling is the process of turning waste glass into usable products. Glass is an ideal material for recycling and where it is used for new glass container manufacture it is virtually infinitely recyclable. The use of recycled glass in new containers helps save energy, reduces energy consumption, and reduces the volume of waste sent to landfill. Last Chance Glass has a hot glass shop fully equipped to melt recycled glass and create new recycled glass objects. They offer free tours and demonstrations. These tours are offered by appointment only and are available to adults, children, and seniors
The following items can be created in the glass shop at the Kaua’i Resource Center:
Bowls
Vases
Whale & Wave Sculptures
Collectables
Blown Glass Goblets & Ornaments
Custom Architectural Pieces
Custom Made Awards
These materials will be available for purchase at local retail stores or directly from Last Chance Glass. Intensive glass manufacturing workshops are available for a fee. Please contact Last Chance Glass for more information at 632-0555.
